Google Workspace Implementation

Google has been around since 1998. Since then, they have developed apps that are similar to Microsoft Products that can become rather pricey (coming from someone who has to sell it as a part time job). Docs relates to Word, Slides related to PowerPoint, and Sheets related to Excel. For a while, Microsoft did not compete with Google's collaboration efforts. Microsoft has Teams, but Google has now implemented a way to combine all of its apps, including the communication and scheduling.

Below, you will find an Implementation Plan for introducing Google Workspace (Google, 2023) to a school district that currently has the use of Google Products. Although the Google Apps are free to use with a Google Account, implementing a Paid Plan through Google within a school district allows for more mobile learning accessibility.

A Paid for Google Workspace provides Administration access to modifying and monitoring the uses of the Google Products. This can be helpful to drive educators to communicate more and bridge the distance gaps for collaboration among educators within different school buildings of the same district. Beyond email, the instant communication of Chat and Meet provided on the same platform can be beneficial for staff within a school district. Administration also can restrict students from full communication use to alleviate any cyberbullying or ethical misuse (Cox & Raditch, 2022).
